donbar is a question of passion!
Passion for design, comfort, fire, intelligent use of materials, and high-performances.
It all started 60 years ago when Belgian designer Charles Dombard decided to develop a complete range of steel fireplaces.
donbar has quickly became a reference, with a focus on the design and use of high quality materials.
donbar products from that generation were sold all over the world up to Japan!
In 2014 donbar brand was acquired by Rudy Cyris, a belgian industrial entrepreneur and a true ambassador of the sector. He decided to give donbar a new impetus.
donbar HAS TODAY, AS A MAJOR OBJECTIVE, TO MAINTAIN THE HIGH QUALITY STANDARDS THAT HAVE ALWAYS MADE ITS REPUTATION.
donbar contributes today to the design of stoves & fireplaces. Thanks to patented innovations, the thickness and appearance of products are simplified, while achieving high performance levels. donbar stoves & fireplaces incorporate innovations that meet the highest burning standards while offering wonderful flames!
The first donbar products of the new generation have been developped to burn wood. Then we imagined to run them with ethanol and gas !
The production will start before the summer of 2018 in Couvin (Belgium). The skills and technical expertise for manufacturing steel products in this part of the world has been recognized for more over a century.
donbar PARTICIPATES IN A MODERN VARIATION OF THE “ARTS & CRAFTS” MOVEMENT.
Created in England by William Morris during the second half of the 19th century, this movement invites us to stay away from mass production. The manufactured product must be considered as a piece of art and craftsmanship is the key.
Although to control the cost of production under control we have standardized the components we buy from external suppliers, our own manufacturing process relies on the skills of our workers, not computers and robots. True intelligence is in their hands.
In addition to technological knowledge, training young workers to master manual and traditional skills is therefore a top priority for building the future and preserving values.
All donbar products are made of recyclable materials.
THE PHILOSOPHY OF donbar IS TO WORK IN HARMONY WITH THE ENVIRONMENT
To this end, donbar has already put in place a policy to donate a portion of its profits to non-profit organizations working on educational/environmental goals.
